Improving the reuse support in learning objects authoring tools: a case study with Cacuriá. Lima, T., Azevedo, R. G. d. A., & Soares Neto, C. d. S. In WebMedia 2019, Rio de Janeiro-RJ, oct, 2019.
abstract   bibtex
Reuse as a way of improving educational resources and facilitating and accelerating the authoring process has been an important theme since the earliest research efforts on Learning Objects (LOs). This work presents the evolution of the Cacuriá authoring tool based on a previous work on the identification of reuse requirements and it analyzes the impact of the implementation of these good practices through a study with the target tool audience. Cacuriá enables the creation of interactive educational multimedia content for the Web and digital TV. The new version of the tool focuses mainly on the inclusion of three new features that favor reuse: Layouts, Widgets, and Application Templates. Through these new resources, the author can build his OA reusing resources created by other authors and has the possibility to reuse good practices, for example, through previously validated pedagogical practices. The added functionalities were evaluated in an experiment with 11 teachers/tutors. The results of this qualitative sample indicate that the participants of the experiment believe that the new functionalities improved the creation of reusable OAs both in the creative aspect and in the reduction of the total development time.
