This paper introduces a novel method of is-landing detection for distributed generation networks employing negative sequence current injection measurement. The negative sequence current injection method (NSCI) is an improvement on previous impedance measurement and current injection techniques for islanding detection. The negative sequence current injection is generated in the synchronous space vector of the inverter reference current. Simulations were conducted on a distributed generator fed loads and injected negative sequence current components using PSIM software to conrm the eectiveness of the proposed method. Detailed simulations were run to demonstrate the performance of the NSCI islanding detection technique at inverters terminals.
