Training on GNSS and Space Weather in Africa in the framework of the North-South scientific network GIRGEA [pdf]Paper  doi  abstract   bibtex
This paper presents the successful setting up of a research and teaching network for space weather in developed and fragile countries. This development took nearly a quarter of a century with the help of international cooperation. Numerous studies have been developed in different domains of Space Weather concerning the impact of solar events on the ionosphere and the Earth's magnetic field, ionospheric electric currents and the induced currents in the ground (GIC) Other studies have also been conducted on climate change, lightning and the movement of tectonic plates. We underline the importance of Global Navigation Satellite Systems [GNSS] for the development of space weather research and capacity building during the last decades
