Def Stan 00-600 Integrated Logistic Support Requirements for MOD Projects [pdf]Paper  abstract   bibtex
This Defence Standard describes the overall context of ILS in the MOD and provides a guidance framework in which to contract for ILS in the procurement and inservice support of Defence products. It also establishes the basis on which a set of requirements and associated programme of deliverables can be agreed and scheduled. The detailed contractual requirements shall be tailored to the specific needs of the contract. The background and the inter-relationships with JSP 886 are articulated within the document, putting the ‘business’ of Integrated Logistic Support in context and describing the support environment in which this business shall be conducted. The ILS activities described by this standard relate to all phases of the Concept, Assessment, Demonstration, Manufacture, In-service, Disposal/Termination (CADMID/T) cycle with the aim of providing a capability by fielding a product with an optimized support solution and sustaining these throughout the product system life cycle to accommodate: a) In-service feedback; b) Support policy/use study changes; c) Design upgrades and technology insertions; d) Changes in operational use; e) Changes in support strategy. This Defence Standard identifies the ILS requirements; JSP 886 provides policy, advice and guidance for a consistent application of processes, specific existing standards and other documents used in the application of ILS.
