Education - it's a whanau thing. 2007.
abstract   bibtex
Features Te Kopae Piripono, Taranaki's only Maori immersion early childhood centre, in New Plymouth. Highlights its strong emphasis on whanau support and involvement. Notes that this often benefits the grandparents and parents as much as the children. Relates how a grandmother remained involved even after her mokopuna moved on and was motivated to train as an early childhood teacher herself and how bringing his daughter to the school helped the father reconnect with te reo.
