Clay objects from Neolithic Levant before the invention of ceramics: Intentional or accidental cooking?. Ayobi, R. Syria, 91:7–34, 2014.
abstract   bibtex
Clay objects were found on several Neolithic sites of the Near East. The oldest date the PPNA. Their production becomes common, on the majority of sites, in the Middle PPNB. Thanks to new excavations, as those of Tell Aswad, supervised by D. Stordeur and B. Jammous between 2001 and 2006, which delivered more than 2 000 clay objects of different forms, we were able to advance research in the field of the technical process and particularly the baking of these objects. It is from these new elements and by confronting them with former data than we shall try to answer questions about the cooking.
