Despite the existence of some architectures and frameworks for supporting assessment with mobile technologies, there is still a need of more research on how these systems should be designed for smart learning environments. In this paper we extend previous research on mobile-based assessment to introduce an architecture to inform the design and development of mobile-based assessment systems for smart learning environments to foster smart learning. The architecture consists of a client side (mobile app) and a server side web application.
