Paper doi abstract bibtex The application of learning theories in transformational games offers a promising avenue to raise awareness on civic topics and drive community-based social change. Inspired by the ICAP framework as well as by participatory art and provocation practices, we designed Piggy Banksy, a transformational playground aimed at turning players into active and socially-conscious citizens. In this iPad-plus-shared screen game, players are prompted to channel their inner provocateur for social change in a public space through embodying the voice of a guerilla artist, co-creating social commentary in the form of an artistic poster. The game uses a real-life workshop format, collective storytelling, and a collaborative creation mechanic to enhance the in-game interactions and post-game conversations and actions.
