  abstract = {This paper presents series on income and wealth concentration in Germany after reunification in 1990 combining individual income tax returns with macroeconomic data. Top income shares are based on a consistent income definition which includes the imputation of capital income after 2009 when capital income was excluded from the income tax base. We estimate top wealth shares by capitalizing the incomes reported in income tax returns combined with macroeconomic household balance sheets.},
