Confirmation of hydrogen-induced unoccupied states in PdH: multiple-scattering analysis of palladium L1 and L3 XANES [link]Paper  doi  abstract   bibtex
For the first time multiple-scattering analysis of PdL 1 and L 3 XANES in metallic Pd and PdH has been performed. The good agreement with experimental results show that all features in PdL 1 and L 3 XANES in both metallic Pd and PdH have a multiple-scattering nature. Our results confirm the evidence of hydrogen-induced unoccupied antibonding states in PdH that was recently proposed on the basis of experimental Pd L 3 XANES investigations.
