ICT e construzione di nuove geografie indigene [link]Paper  doi  abstract   bibtex
In recent years the widespread availability in remote areas of the planet of the Internet, of intuitive and accessible online platforms (such as Facebook, Flickr and YouTube), and of video and digital photography has determined a considerable increase in the use of digital technologies among indigenous communities. The article examines how these changes may or may not bring benefit to indigenous communities. The discussion is developed through the analysis of a research project, COBRA, which made use of digital technologies (particularly participatory video and photography and their exchange via internet platforms). The goal of the paper is to explore whether and how digital technologies can be tools able to bring out and discuss positions, instances, and world views of indigenous communities, from the local to the global scale.
