Adiabatic mode multiplexers. Birks, T., Yerolatsitis, S., & Harrington, K. In 2017 Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Exhibition, OFC 2017 - Proceedings, 2017.
abstract   bibtex
© 2017 Optical Society of America. We describe mode multiplexers that rely on adiabatic propagation along optical fibre structures (photonic lanterns) that change gradually along their lengths. Spatially-separated single-mode waves evolve adiabatically into individual pure modes occupying a common multimode core.
