Phenomenological treatment of anharmonic effects in Cd isotopes. Bès, D. R. & Dussel, G. G. Nuclear Physics, Section A, 135(1):1–24, 1969.
doi  abstract   bibtex
We test the phenomenological description of anharmonic effects in Cd isotopes. Only third order anharmonicities are taken into account. A criterion for the range of validity of the model is given. Comparison of our results with the experimental energies, electromagnetic transition rates and one-body transfer reactions shows that the theoretical predictions are generally improved by the presence of anharmonic terms. However, aside from the static quadrupole moment, the improvement is not spectacular, and, therefore, its significancy in testing the adequacy of the anharmonic adiabatic description is questionable. Two sets of single-particle energies, both reproducing the levels in odd nuclei, are obtained as a by product of the calculation. \textcopyright 1969.
