Inspired by the tragedy of Medea, the author analyzes the psychological dynamics that underlie the killing of children within the clinical picture of depression and paranoia. Besides the \"real\" infanticide represented by the physical suppression of the child, there are other forms of \"symbolic\" infanticides that are manifested as attachment to the link of the child with one parent. Based on the description of the Parental Alienation Syndrome carried out by R. Gardner, and in reference to the recent classification of \"Parental Alienation Disorder\" proposed by W.
