Instability in Raman amplifiers caused by distributed Rayleigh reflection. Chen, C., Lee, H., & Cheng, Y. In OFC 2003 Optical Fiber Communications Conference, 2003., pages 157 vol.1–, March, 2003.
doi  abstract   bibtex
We observed instability in Raman optical amplifiers caused by the Raman gain and the cavity between two mirrors formed by distributed Rayleigh reflection. Threshold pump power for the instability and limitation imposed on Raman amplifiers are derived and discussed.
