CONNECTING IN THE SCANDALVERSE: THE POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA AND PARASOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS. CLARK, N. In Digital Technology and the Future of Broadcasting. Routledge, 2015. Num Pages: 15
abstract   bibtex
Like pioneers who settle a new land, users of social media connect to create a universe that is all their own. One of the most popular and, frankly, fascinating online worlds to explore is that of Scandal fandom, found on the short messaging site Twitter, video distributor YouTube, and microblogging site Tumblr. The “Scandalverse,” as it is known online, is populated and led by women-many of color-who use social media to celebrate the ABC hit drama.
