Image filtering and denoising through the scale transform. Cristobal, G., Cuesta, J., & Cohen, L. In Proceedings of the IEEE-SP International Symposium on Time-Frequency and Time-Scale Analysis, pages 617-620, 1998.
abstract   bibtex
The scale transform has been recently proposed and applied to 1D signals in applications such as speech processing, biological signals and machine vibration analysis. This paper describes some results of the scale transform use in some practical applications, in particular for image denoising. Our preliminary work indicates that under many circumstances denoising in the scale domain appears more effective than in the Fourier domain.
