Integrating research-based information into the professional practices by teachers and school administrators: towards a knowledge transfer model adapted to the educational environment [pdf]Paper  abstract   bibtex
This project is the first stage of a three-phase study using quantitative and qualitative methodologies that provide complimentary perspectives on the issue of how research evidence is incorporated into professional practices by a plethora of school practitioners. This first stage was based on the quantitative approach to data collection and pursued the following objectives: • Document how school practitioners obtain access to research results and what types of evidence (general and local) they use to make their decisions regarding pedagogical practices • Identify the purposes for which each type of evidence was used • Identify the factors that have the most influence on the utilization of research by education practitioners • Disseminate the results of this study in both languages and in formats adapted to various target audiences (teachers and local, regional and government decision makers) in addition to sharing the results with our peers through traditional research community communication channels.
