FUNGAL SPORA OF STREAM FOAM FROM CENTRAL SPAIN .1. CONIDIA IDENTIFIABLE TO SPECIES. Descals, E., Pelaez, F., & Llorca, L. V. L. Nova Hedwigia, 60(3-4):533–550, May, 1995. Paper abstract bibtex A survey of samples of stream foam from the Gredos and Bejar mountains of central Spain has yielded 66 species of Ingoldian fungi (i.e.: 52 aquatic hyphomycetes, eight anamorphs of ascomycetes, four of basidiomycetes and two of amphibious entomophthoraleans) and one aero-aquatic hyphomycete. Unidentified forms will be discussed in a second contribution. Line drawings depict the more interesting taxa. The value of floristic surveys based on preserved foam is appraised, and factors which may affect species distribution and spore abundance are discussed.
