We study the motion of an overdamped Brownian particle in a linear potential between reflecting and absorbing boundaries. The moving particle experiences the combined action of random and deterministic forces. In the model, the well-known and celebrated phenomenon of resonant activation is visible. The presence of two dichotomous noises modulates the shape of the potential barrier and changes the force acting on the particle leading to further acceleration of the escape kinetics in comparison to the situation where only one dichotomous process is present. In the case of very small or very large correlation times of dichotomous noises, we can observe asymptotic behavior of the system in which effectively one of the dichotomous noises is eliminated. © 2008 World Scientific Publishing Company.
