Enhanced Kerr effect experienced by ASE light [link]Website  doi  abstract   bibtex
A surprisingly high fiber optic Kerr coefficient for amplified spontaneous emission has been measured through self-phase modulation. This enhancement originates from the dependence of two-photon absorption rate on the second-order degree of coherence of light.
