DefinitionMultimedia content can have multiple semantics varying over time, i.e. the relevance of metadata used for describing the meaning of the multimedia content depends on the underlying context. Herein, context is defined as a set of concepts from a particular domain that is supposed to encode a view of a party. In comparison to ontologies that stand for themselves and are built to be shared, the context is kept with the content (and often sharing makes only sense together with the content). However, the technical requirements for describing and managing ontology knowledge or context knowledge are the same.
