Model Assisted Probability of Detection in Structural Health Monitoring. Gallina, A., Paćko, P., & Ambroziński, L. 2013. doi abstract bibtex This chapter presents an application of the model assisted probability of detection for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) systems under uncertain crack configuration and system variability. The phenomena related to a SHM system are studied using numerical simulations of planar structures monitored by transducer arrays. The monitoring reliability is evaluated using a three-dimensional model including both Lamb wave propagation in a plate-like structure and scattering from cracks with different configurations. Computer models are implemented using parallel processing technology, which significantly speeds up the simulation time. The configurations considered in the chapter account for the variations of the relative crack position, orientation and size. \textcopyright 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
