We present an experimental analysis on externally seeded colourless transmitters for WDM PON. We take advantage of direct modulation of a high performance MQW RSOA. Chirp is analysed as main limiting factor to SSMF propagation at 10 Gb/s. We demonstrate that off-set filtering performed by the OLT demultiplexer allows to cope with chromatic dispersion impairments and to bridge 24-km SSMF at 10 Gb/s with modest penalties with respect to back to back. © 2013 IEEE.
