This paper describes deployment of well-known principles of TE in combination with new approach for building networks - Software-Defined Networking (SDN). Proposed solution realizes measurement of specific network parameters. Measurement is realized using standard OpenFlow or ICMP messages. Based on measurement, proposed tunnel selection algorithm performs critical decision-making. Selection of optimal path from the source to the destination improves network resources usage and may result in increased quality of experience (QoE). Proposed TE approach was implemented and evaluated to verify its contribution.
