The author offers the following suggestions regarding forging a collaborative relationship between clergy and church musicians: (1) develop an understanding of roles; (2) work toward a common understanding of the role of music in worship; (3) learn to appreciate one another's discipline; (4) meet regularly; (5) address problems; and (6) show concern for other's area of ministry.
