A Cyborg Manifesto: Science, Technology, and Socialist-Feminism in the Late Twentieth Century. Haraway, D. J. University of Minnesota Press, April, 2016.
Paper abstract bibtex “The Cyborg Manifesto” rethinks 1980s American socialist feminism in the context of C3I, command-control-communications-intelligence of the electronic battlefield, and of the sciences and natural-social worlds annealed in that cauldron. Cyborgs are specific kinds of worldly entities; they are not classical machine-human hybrids, but rather condensed nodes within the situated historical implosion of organisms, information sciences and digital machines, and human bodies and lives. Refigured for feminist, queer, antiracist, anti-capitalist, and pro-earth sciences and politics, cyborgs announce dangerous but promising possibilities.
