Morphing the shell model into an effective theory. Haxton, W. C. & Song, C. L. Physical Review Letters, 84(24):5484–5487, 2000.
doi  abstract   bibtex
An approach to address the canonical nuclear structure problem is introduced. The approach is nonperturbative and employs the Lanczos algorithm. The attractiveness of this approach is that the effective interaction part of the procedure is performed only once. As an illustration, the results for the simplest nuclei, d and 3He, are discussed.
