Free of nobility: A supported nickel catalyst derived from Ni-Al hydrotalcite is a promising candidate to replace noble metals for hydrogen generation from the catalytic decomposition of N 2H 4·H 2O under ambient conditions. The catalyst produces H 2 at 30 °C in 93 % selectivity. The catalytic function is due to the cooperation of highly dispersed Ni nanoparticles and strong basic sites located nearby.
