Permaculture and Design Education. Hirst In Design for Sustainabilty. Earthscan / James & James, 2002.
abstract   bibtex
Permaculture has been defined as the harmonious integration of landscape and people, providing their food, energy, shelter, and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way (Mollison 1996, p. ix). Yet permaculture, as a paradigm, has potential significance beyond sustainable food production. Based on a feminist analysis, it is argued that permaculture can be used as a method of design, and a vehicle for improving environmental design education.
