Effect on streamflow of cutting a forest understory. Johnson, undefined & J. L. Kovner, E. A. 1956.
Paper abstract bibtex On Coweeta Watershed 19, the laurel and rhododendron understory (22 percent of total basal area) was cut between December 1948 and March 1949. A 4-inch increase in water yield was achieved the first year after treatment, and the yield increase declined during the next 6 years. This increase was almost evenly divided between the growing and dormant seasons.
