The role of faculty autonomy in a course-integrated information literacy program [link]Paper  abstract   bibtex
Getting faculty to do what we want them to do without us as it relates to IL instruction in the course. From abstract: The purpose of this paper is to explore the significance of faculty autonomy in sustaining a successful information literacy program....Results of a follow-up study confirmedthat faculty continued to integrate information literacy in their courses of their own accord, under-scoring the importance of an autonomy-supportive program structure. From conclusion: Librarians in particular may benefit from theoretically rooted understandings of human motivation to better understand faculty values and develop more sustainable and engaging partnerships and programs.
