Autisme og komorbide, psykiske lidelser. Kaland, N.
abstract   bibtex
While autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) (autism, Asperger syndrome and atypical autism or PDDNOS) are classified as psychiatric disorders, not much is known about their psychiatric aspects. Recent data suggest that ASDs are strongly associated with comorbide psychiatric disorders like depression, ADHD, tics, Tourette syndrom, anxiety disorders, depression and bipolar disorder. Recent studies suggest that a comorbid psychiatric condition is the rule and not the exception as far as ASDs are concerned. The clinical picture of ASDs may be complicated and many professionals may not be aware of the many manifestations, complications and psychiatric correlates of these conditions.
