A new non-separable model for color halftoning is presented. This model forms the basis of ldquo;model-based rdquo; techniques and it accounts for the distortions caused by ldquo;dot-overlap rdquo; and imperfect inks. We calculate the color difference in the CIE La*b* color space in order to reproduce the color more precisely. A measuring method of patches is used to deal with the imperfect inks, and the dot-overlap model and Neugebauer equations are used to represent the color printer model. This approach offer more a complex but better color reproduction
