Differential Kerr-induced XPM in dispersion shifted fiber for wavelength conversion. Marazzi, L., Parolari, P., Boffi, P., & Martinelli, M. Optics Communications, 2000.
doi  abstract   bibtex   1 download
A novel wavelength converter exploiting Kerr-due birefringence in a standard DS fiber based on a Kerr shutter architecture is proposed. A brief comparison with other common path configurations is presented. Wavelength conversion at 3 Gbit/s is achieved by employing standard EDFA for drive signal amplification.
