Information seeking in electronic environments. Marchionini, G. Cambridge University Press, New York, NY, USA, 1995.
abstract   bibtex
The book is aimed primarily at two communities: information scientists, graduate students in information science, and practicing information specialists who wish to gain a human-computer interaction perspective for information seeking; and human-computer interaction researchers, students, and practitioners who want to gain insight into information seeking and information science in order to build the next generation of information retrieval and processing systems. My goal in writing this book is to present a user-centered perspective of information seeking in electronic environments that serves as a bridge between these communities. Depending on which side of the bridge you start from, my hope is to present an integrated view that informs the reader about a related literature base and provokes thoughtful reactions to the state of our evolution.
