Sloot ik de deur nu werkelijk of was het inbeelding? Het belang van reality-monitoring en metacognities bij dwang = Did I really close the door, or did I just imagine it? The importance of reality-monitoring and metacognitions in obsessive compulsive disorder. Martens, K., Hermans, D., Pieters, G., De Cort, C., Belis, G., & De Cuyper, K. Gedragstherapie, 35(3):249–267, September, 2002. Publisher: Bohn Stafleu Van Loghum: Springer
Paper abstract bibtex Tested the hypothesis that obsessive–compulsive (OC) symptoms in OC patients are linked to memory deficits and specifically to a reality-monitoring deficit. The Metacognitions Questionnaire (S. Cartwright-Hatton and A. Wells, 1997) was used to examine metacognitions in a clinical sample of OC patients in Belgium who were exposed to individually selected fear-related stimuli. The results did not point to a reality-monitoring deficit but did reveal important differences in the metacognitive beliefs of OC patients vs normal controls. Patients had less confidence in their own cognitive functioning than controls did. The implications for cognitive–behavioral interventions are discussed.
