Transgenic Potatoes for Small-scale Farmers: A case study in Mexico. Massieu, Y., González, R., L., Chauvet, M., & Castañeda, Y. Biotechnology and Development Monitor, 41:6-10, 2000.
abstract   bibtex

This claim is backed by economic models, but interviews with the farmers concerned show that they are not likely to benefit from the new varieties.
