Termo, conceito e relações conceituais: um estudo das propostas de Dahlberg e Hjorland. Melo, M. A. F. & Bräscher, M. 41(1):14, 2014.
abstract   bibtex
Proposes a theoretical and comparative analysis of the epistemological approach of two important researchers: Ingertraut Dahlberg and Birger Hjørland. The identification of the influence of positivist and pragmatic currents in the epistemological positioning of Dahlberg and Hjorland was performed by analyzing the scholarly production of both authors on the main elements of the thematic representation of information: concept, term and relationship, as well as the definition of each researcher for what they consider knowledge organization. It is observed that the Dahlberg studies have positivist thinking features and Hjørland follows a pragmatic line. However, there is no opposition, but the coexistence of theoretical approaches, necessary for the understanding of the complex processes of knowledge organization. The coexistence of theoretical approaches is a relevant contribution to the practice of knowledge organization, as the complexity and interdisciplinary nature of the study on concept demand multiple epistemological approaches, such as positivist and pragmatic, in order to analyze concepts and semantic relationships in different social and cultural contexts.
