© 2000 IEEE.Estimation of the values of the parameters of affine transformations are crucial in dealing with the compensation problem in image acquisition and image registration. We investigate these problems using spectral, Fourier and complex analysis. We furthermore introduce some new techniques for obtaining spectral transformations and computing of the so-called crosspower spectrum of an image, allowing a fast and efficient solution of the problem of image registration under affine transformation.
