A radio survey of 133 spiral galaxies of all morphological types in 68 Hickson Compact Groups has detected radio emission from 56 galaxies. In most of them the radio sources are confined to central regions of the galaxies. However, in the case of one barred spiral HCG 47a most of the total radio emission is confined to a spiral arm which dominates the blue image. Furthermore, the blue luminosity of the spiral arm is dominated by a number of conspicuous condensations which are also clearly delineated in the radio image. The spiral arm is seen to extend all the way to an elliptical galaxy which is a member of the group. This galaxy appears to be a prime example of the type of systems in which tidal action by a perturber leads to the development of conspicuous spiral arms dominated by starbursts.
