Progetto e Realizzazione di un Impianto per Prove Rotodinamiche su Turbopompe. Milani, A. 2002.
abstract   bibtex
The present work concerns the definition and design of a Cavitating Pump Rotordynamic Facility intended for carrying out rotordynamic tests on scaled turbopumps for rocket propulsion applications under cavitating/noncavitating conditions. The facility, operating in water, is to be used for the measurement of rotordynamic and cavitation fluid forces on pump rotors, that can cause faults and output degradation in the mentioned turbopumps. More generally, it has been designed as a flexible apparatus that can readily be adapted to conduct experimental investigations on virtually any kind of fluid dynamic phenomena relevant to high performance turbopumps. In this report we present first the general characteristics of turbopump an d then I talk about the phenomenon of cavitation and rotordynamics force. Subsequently the component of CPTF circuit are shown and the difference whit the CPRTF circuit are bring out. In the second part of report ,the main component and subsystem of RFTF are presented and conditions by the way have been design and carrying out. The work is inside the framework of the research programme FESTIP, WP 2310, financially supported by European Space Agency. It concerns the development of new technologies for future reusable launchers. It has been developed in the “CENTROSPAZIO” laboratory. Prof. Luca d’Agostino supervised all the work.
