abstract   bibtex
The development of limit states design in Canada has resulted in a consistent approach to design for structures constructed with different materials. Some aspects of the application of the limit states design are discussed. The National Building Code of Canada and the CSA design standards form an integrated set of performance based design standards. Some innovative aspects of the Canadian concrete standards are discussed and comparisons are made with other codes.
