A fiber optic distributed temperature and strain sensor, based on standard Brillouin Optical Correlation Domain Analisys (BOCDA) is implemented. Performance improvements achieved using a Single Sideband Suppressed Carrier (SSB-SC) modulator, instead of usual Dual Sideband (DSB) Modulation of the probe arm, are studied and experimentally evaluated.
