Parkinsona florida (Benth. ex A. Gray) S. Watson is a scrubby, drought- deciduous tree of the Sonoran Desert, extending from southeastern California and Arizona into northwestern Mexico (Sonora State). On the mainland of the United States and Mexico (excluding Baja California), it has a very similar geographic distribution to the closely related P. microphyllum Tor., but is distinguished in its ecological habitat.
