	Abstract = {Recent paleontologic investigations near Orto di Donna on the northeast side of the Apuane Alps, Italy, have revealed a microfauna with nummulites and other large foraminifera in the pseudomacigno, tentatively considered a metamorphic equivalent of the Oligocene macigno. The presence of this microfauna confirms its lower Tertiary age. The discovery of this fossil locality also confirms an overthrust relationship between the metamorphic series including the pseudomacigno and Norian (Triassic) limestones and dolomites.},
