Gottschalk Gallery. Nardone, K. Master's thesis, Tufts University, 2022.
URL abstract bibtex My masters’ thesis Gottschalk Gallery is a composition for string quartet and percussion. Its five movements are inspired by photographs by Donna Gottschalk, a lesbian photographer born in 1949 who documented her friends’ and family’s involvement in the Gay Liberation Movement in the 1970’s. The photographs that I chose for this project depict everyday moments of queer intimacy and stillness. In each movement, I tried to write music that captures the feelings that emerged for me when I spent time with the photograph
