[Excerpt] This species is listed as Endangered in view of its extent of occurrence (EOO) estimated to be c. 200 km2, area of occupancy (AOO) estimated to be~c.~36~km2,~its existence at three locations and an observed and projected continuing decline in the number of mature individuals because of wood extraction. [::Common Name(s)] [::]English - Teodorov's Pear [::Taxonomic Notes] Pyrus theodorovii Mulk. was described by Ja. I. Mulkidjanyan in 1965 from the Erevan floristic region of Armenia. Leaves are obovate or narrowly elliptic, orbicular or shortly wide-cuneate at base, obtuse in the upper part with very short pointed tip. [::Range Description] It is endemic to Armenia where it is found in the~Gegam and Erevan floristic regions. [::Countries] Native:Armenia (Armenia) [::Population] It is rare and there are three locations. [::Habitat and Ecology] It grows in arid light forests at 1,600-1,800 m asl. [::Major Threat(s)] The major threat is harvesting, in particular wood extraction.
