SOA based all-optical threshold. Parolari, P., Marazzi, L., Connen, M., & Martinelli, M. In Pacific Rim Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, CLEO - Technical Digest, 2000.
abstract   bibtex
An all-optical threshold device based on Cross-Gain Modulation (XGM) in semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) is presented. The scheme employs two SOA optical inverters in a feedback configuration, leading to an all-optical circuit that operates both as threshold and comparator. Analysis of the device operation and further experimentations are presented and discussed.
