Ibsen and Mimesis [link]Paper  abstract   bibtex
The article discusses mimesis in the dramas of playwright Henrik Ibsen. The ideas about mimesis from philosophers Aristotle and Plato, particularly as explored in Aristotle's book "Poetics," are considered. Aristotle believed that drama should be a reflection of real life and that metaphor was an important component of drama. Ibsen's plays "The Master Builder" and "Hedda Gabler" are discussed in terms of mimesis.
